The Stewards fined the following trainer in respect of their non-runner:-
Paul John Gilligan, trainer of Bobbisilver (going) - €200.403A Limerick Racecourse Claiming H'dle
J.W. Kennedy, rider of Timmy Tuesday, trained by Gordon Elliott, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung left throughout.
403B Munster Suite @ Limerick H'cap H'dleThe Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Without Exception, trained by P.J. Rothwell, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Likable Chancer, trained by Daniel John Howard, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
Brian Barry, rider of Coffeys Forge, trained by Sean Aherne, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount made an abnormal respiratory noise in running and subsequently was pulled up.
Ms.M.Flynn, trainer of Toor Moon, reported to the Clerk of Scales that her charge never travelled.
Brian Barry, rider of Coffeys Forge, trained by Sean Aherne, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount hit the rail on the bend, after the winning post on the first circuit. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the matter, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.
403C Conference & Banqueting (M) M'dn H'dleThe Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Golden Wings, trained by Gordon Elliott, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to have overreached on the left fore but was otherwise post race normal.
J.W. Kennedy, rider of Golden Wings, trained by Gordon Elliott, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount never travelled and pulled up.
403E Cheltenham Raceday 12th March Hcap H'dleThe Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Big Dee, trained by Eoin Christopher McCarthy, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to have pulled a shoe and was found to have overreached when examined post race.
The Raceday Stewards enquired into the riders first approach to the starter, involving Ferdia, ridden by Brian Barry, Marelly, ridden by C.M Hogan, Dontcavein, ridden by E. Walsh, Las Brisas Boy, ridden by K.E Buckley, Le Fanu, ridden by Josh Williamson, Donnrua Dream, ridden by L. Quinlan, Falcon Park, ridden by G. Brouder, Glens Sensation, ridden by J.G. Gilligan, and Wild Wild Wind, ridden by H.J. Horgan, concerning the false start. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Brian Barry stated that he was sitting into the saddle in an attempt to stop his mount. C.M Hogan stated that his mount became agitated before the road when he took a check back, he further added that he squeezed his mount after the road crossing. E. Walsh stated that he couldn't clearly see the flag for the first three or four strides but attempted to pull up when he could. K.E Buckley stated that he thought the starter was going to let them go on the first approach. Josh Williamson stated that he obeyed the starters order as best as possible attempting to stop his mount. L. Quinlan stated that he thought they were clear to approach the starter and that the race should have been started. G. Brouder stated that he tried to take back when his mount felt pressure from the middle and broke into a canter. He further added that his mount wears headgear and can be difficult. J.G. Gilligan stated that his mount locked on to go with the others. H.J. Horgan stated that his mount broke into a canter. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards found Brian Barry, C.M Hogan, E. Walsh, Josh Williamson, L. Quinlan, J.G. Gilligan and H.J. Horgan to be in breach of Rule 208.(iii)(b) (put a Horse into a canter) and having considered their clean record in this regard the Raceday Stewards suspended them for one raceday. The Raceday Stewards also found K.E Buckley to be in breach of Rule 208.(iii)(b) (put a Horse into a canter) and having considered his record in this regard (second offence) suspended him for two racedays. They also acknowledged the accuracy and honesty of his evidence. The Raceday Stewards also found G. Brouder to be in breach of Rule 208.(iii)(b) (put a Horse into a canter) and having considered his record in this regard (third offence) suspended him for three racedays.
C.P. Millar, rider of Big Dee, trained by Eoin Christopher McCarthy, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount stopped quickly and pulled up.
J.G. Gilligan, rider of Glens Sensation, trained by Paul John Gilligan, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount stopped quickly and pulled up.
H.J. Horgan, rider of Wild Wild Wind, trained by M.A.Cahill, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung slightly left in the home straight.
The Raceday Stewards requested a report from Ray Hackett, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Donnrua Dream, placed first, as compared with its recent form. Ray Hackett stated that the drop back in trip and first time application of blinkers today may have brought about the apparent improvement in form. Having considered the report the Raceday Stewards noted the report given.
403F Panoramic Restaurant Novice H'cap H'dleAnna McGuinness, rider of Harry's Dream, trained by P.J. Rothwell, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that her mount made an abnormal respiratory noise in the home straight.
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Harry's Dream, trained by P.J. Rothwell, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
